Are you interested in running for the 2025 Board of Directors for the Woodmore Highlands Homeowners Association, Inc.? If so, email the Election Committee at  ElectionCommittee@WoodmoreHighlands.org to obtain a candidate packet.

 

The timeline for the Board of Directors election is as follows:

September 30, 2024	October 25, 2024	Call for Candidates Interested candidates request and receive an application packet from the Election Committee.  Packets must be returned to the Election Committee on or before October 25, 2024 at 11:59 pm.  Application packets received after the deadline or that are incomplete will not be accepted.
October 28, 2024	November 22, 2024	Eligibility Review The Election Committee will review the application packets and meet with the candidates.
November 29, 2024	December 20, 2024	Candidate Presentation to Homeowners The Election Committee and Board create and distribute the Annual Business Meeting notification to all homeowners.  The notifications will include information on all candidates for the Board of Directors.
December 27, 2024	January 30, 2025	Voting All eligible homeowners cast their vote for the Board of Directors via email or US mail.
January 13, 2025	January 17, 2025	Candidate Forum An Election Committee sponsored event where all candidates attend and are presented to the homeowners
January 29, 2025	January 29, 2025	Election of the New Board Final voting for the candidates, closing of the elections.
January 30, 2025	January 30, 2025	Annual Business Meeting Section and announcement of new Board of Directors for 2025.

A speed calming camera was installed on Dunwood Valley Drive in early January 2024.  The speed limit is 25 mph - if you exceed the posted speed limit, you will eventually receive a ticket.

 

 

 

This is a major accomplishment for the community.  Cars are constantly speeding on DVD and there have been several accidents on the street.  For over 10 years the homeowners and HOA have been working diligently with the City Council and City Staff to make DVD safe.

 

 

This is an example of the City working with the community to address the community's concerns and needs.

 

Congratulations to our own Kayla Adams, daughter of Mayor Tim Adams and the former Prince George's County Judge Shelia Tillerson-Adams, on the release of her debut song 'Numb'

 

 

 

 The Hon. Councilmember Ingrid Watson and the Hon. Councilmember At Large Calvin S. Hawkins, II provided the Woodmore Highlands HOA with reusable bags for all of the homeowners. 
 

The HOA President, JoAnn Marshall-Hobbs, and Vice President, Milly Hall, visited the Prince George's County Office in Largo to pick up the reusable bags.

 

 

A sincere thank you to the HOA Vice President and your neighbor Khesha Reed who volunteered their time to distribute the reusable bags to every home in Woodmore Highlands. .

A mural of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. is painted on the external wall of the Bowie City Gym facing Northview Dr. The 22-foot-tall mural was painted by contemporary muralist, Desiree Kelly from Michigan.  The mural represents the legacy of Dr. King and his fight for social justice.
